The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Secretariat is pleased to announce a one day consultation workshop will be held on 25th January 2018 in Parkcity Everly, Miri, Sarawak to discuss Best Management Practices (BMPs) for Peatland Management for Oil Palm. This will include experiences and lessons learned from implementing the existing RSPO manuals (published in 2012) on Best Management Practices (BMPs) for (i) Existing Oil Palm Cultivation on Peat; and (ii) Management and Rehabilitation of Natural Vegetation associated with Oil Palm Cultivation on Peat.

This consultation workshop will support the ongoing review to bring the existing manuals in line with the current regulations and practices committed by government and private sector. Global Environment Centre (GEC) has been engaged as the facilitator of the review process.

The existing RSPO manuals can be viewed electronically and downloaded at https://rspo.org/key-documents/supplementary-materials#). RSPO and GEC welcome your participation to share the challenges and successes related to implementing the RSPO Manuals, as well as share emerging and innovative BMPs currently being piloted and/or implemented.
