Kuala Lumpur/Vevey, July 16, 2018 – The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) today reinstated Nestlé S.A.’s membership following the submission of its time-bound action plan to achieve 100% RSPO certified sustainable palm oil by 2023.
The 2018 China Sustainable Palm Oil Supply Chain Forum & The Second RSPO China Forum (the Forum) was held today in Nanjing, China.
More than 430 attendees from 20 countries gathered to discuss certified sustainable palm oil in Latin America at RSPO’s 7th Latin American Conference. United by the common goal of establishing Latin America as a global leader in sustainable palm oil production, participants reflected on 10 years of RSPO presence in the region.
Launched in June, RSPO’s Sustainability College offers open-access courses on topics related to sustainable palm oil, including Free Prior and Informed Consent, Certification, Remediation and Compensation Procedures and more. To celebrate the launch, RSPO is giving away to free passes to next year’s Roundtable to three lucky Sustainability College users.

International, [Tuesday 12th June 2018] - The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and Ulula have partnered to introduce a simplified and inclusive mechanism to report potential worker’s incidents and abuses, and to monitor employee satisfaction and social investments in oil palm plantations.
An unlikely partnership between two RSPO members, non-profit Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation and palm oil company PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana, highlights the importance of collaboration in orangutan conservation. The groups teamed up to establish a much needed pre-release site for orangutans on Salat Island. Such conservation areas are key to reintroducing orangutans to the wild.
The Sustainable Palm Oil Community gathered anew to raise awareness on sustainable palm oil production practices, with guests speakers discussing the European Union’s renewable energy directive, sustainable palm oil certification in Malaysia, and labour rights and issues.
