    Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
    Sysco recognizes the importance of contributing to the promotion of a sustainable supply of palm oil and are committed to partnering with our suppliers to increase over time the use of responsibly-sourced palm oil in the Sysco Brand supply chain. We have developed a palm oil sourcing policy to reflect our concern about current palm oil industry practices and our commitment to engage in an appropriate manner to influence meaningful, long-term change in this area. We have also established a cross-functional team to implement the policy, with our first milestone to work with our suppliers to source Sysco Brand products that include palm and palm kernel oil that are RSPO-certified (Mass Balance) by December 31, 2018.   • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
    Sysco has established a cross functional team to communicate internally as well as externally about the importance of sustainable palm oil. This team is also responsible for implementation of our Sustainable Palm Oil policy, including working with our suppliers to source sustainable palm oil in our Sysco Brand products.
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
    We are currently developing a process by which we will track our progress toward reaching the milestones included in our policy as well as the technology needed to collect this information.
