Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
    As a trading company BÄKO central Germany eG depends on the product offerings of suppliers and manufacturers.

    The selection of products is carried out according to specifications of the customer.
  • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
    We are an independent, cooperative organized wholesale company with two locations in the state of Saxony (Headquarters St. Egidien / operating Krostitz) and do not have their own production.

    The approximately 560 affiliated member businesses of BÄKO central Germany eG are companies of the bakery and confectionery craft, while customers and our owners BÄKO cooperative.

    Due to the ISO 9001 certification, we have to comply with the statutory and regulatory requirements (eg food law; Infection Protection Act) committed.

    Furthermore it has the BÄKO central Germany eG a fully documented quality management system that includes procedures to all operations. This we will extend now to the requirements of the RSPO.

    For the employees concerned, we are on the subject of RSPO conduct a proper training and integrate them into our annual training plan.

    We are supplied by different vendors with products containing certified palm oil. These products will receive a separate article numbers. With our modern Warehouse Management System PL-store as well as our enterprise resource planning system, we can guarantee the following points:
    - Traceability using batch and best before date
    - Performance evaluation and proper statistics quantity and value in relation to the article master, suppliers and customers.

    An inspection of our suppliers will periodically by certificate queries, conducting supplier audits, requirements of specifications, etc. instead.
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
    BÄKO Mitteldeutschland eG is, as already mentioned, only a wholesale and not a producer. Our influence on the growers and millers is low / not present.
  • Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
    - Assurance of contracts, and thus the existence of the company.
    - Consolidation and expansion of the image at the customer.
