Clarebout Potatoes NV

Clarebout Potatoes and CL Warneton are 2 factories which are producing prefried, deepfrozen French fries (different cutsizes). We are using different types of oil, so also palm oil. Next to the production of French fries we are also producing potato flakes (in which we use monoglyceride ~origin palm oil/or other origin). The french fries are packed for in consumer units for privat label / restaurants / hotels. The flakes are sold as an intermediate product to other businesses.

Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
RSPO ~sustainable palm oil and monoglyceride will be implemented as part of our environmental policy.
  • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
Where possible/requested the palm oil will be replaced by sunflower oil. Otherwise on request palm oil will be replaced by sustainable palm oil (mass balance or segrated).
The monoglyceride for the production of potato flakes will be sustainable mass balance or other origin of monoglyceride.
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
A specific procedure will be written in order to assure the mass balance or requirements for segrated palm oil is fulfilled and will be followed during the different stages.
All our suppliers of palm oil as well as monoglyceride are already a member of RSPO.
For new suppliers of these raw material, this will also be a minimum requirement.
  • Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
