Brace's is Wales largest independent bakery, with two state-of-the-art manufacturing sites across South East Wales. Brace's initial site is in Croespenmaen, Crumlin and its second site in Pen-y-Fan was opened in 2004 and is a fully-automated bakery producing 6,000 loaves per hour.
The fourth generation of the Brace family now manages the Crumlin-based company, which celebrates its 110th year in business in 2012 and has a staff of 250 supplying more than 3000 locations with 52 million loaves a year. Brace's serves an approximate population base of 7 million, where bread penetration is 99%.
Brace?s is the biggest branded bread product in South Wales and the South West of England with customers including leading supermarket chains such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury and Morrisons.
Despite its history, Brace?s is widely regarded as a forward-thinking and innovative leader within the industry. In 2005, Brace?s was the first bakery in the UK to receive the British Retail Consortium (BRC) accreditation, for excellent standards in bread manufacturing and regularly welcomes visitors from across the globe, keen to visit and learn from Brace?s state-of-the-art facilities. Brace?s continual investment in machinery has always been key to the company?s efficiency and its drive for expansion.
Commercially, in addition to supplying all major multiples with Brace?s branded products, Brace?s produces several own-label products and has a very dynamic New Product Development department.
Brace?s has a very active presence within the local communities it serves and has a well-established and comprehensive sponsorship and funding programme. Previous partnerships have included Cardiff City Football Club, Cardiff Rugby Football Club and Glamorgan Cricket Club.
