Boerinneke is a Belgian family company created in 1955 to produce chocolate spreads with real Belgian chocolate. It sells under its own brand, Marino, and also under other brands with ~2,000 tonnes finished products produced annually. Its biggest markets are Belgium, France, USA and Australia.

Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
    In our quality system there is a policy integretated in which we communicate several statements to our employees. Environment, safety, people management, are some aspects of this policy. We will integrate our RSPO memebership in this policy.
  • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
    We will communicate our RSPO membership by buying Green palm certificates. We will comunicate this to our costumer and for interested costumers we will use these certificates.
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
    Our company has only one supplier for the palm fat, this supplier is CSM Benelux and they are also a member of RSPO, they are well-known with the RSPO Priciples and Criteria.
  • Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
    Our company pays a lot of attention to environment, social matters and sustainability. By becomming a membership of RSPO and buying Green Palm Certificates we want to prove that we try to invest a little in the general environment. It is really necessary nowedays that people be aware of the problems regarding environment. We want to contribute as a company.
