Agroindustrial Palma Real S.A. de C.V. (AGROPALMA) is a Honduran company dedicated to grow palm oil trees and to produce palm oil products that includes a 5000 hectares of plantation and an extracting plant with 45 MT per hour capacity. Our plantations and factory are located in Trujillo, Honduras. The company initiated operations in 1992 and all the production is currently exported.

Our factory facility is certified ISO 9001:2008. Our ISO Quality Policy is the following:
In AGROPALMA we are committed to produce and deliver Palm Oil products that constantly comply with the specifications and requirements of our clients and to maintain a work environment that guaranties the security of our employees, the reliability of our products and that continuously improves the efficiency of our processes.

We are also committed to protect the natural resources and to help improve the communities in our area. We believe that in helping our communities in education and health we will help to contribute in their development.
The land in of our plantations are in agricultural dedicated areas that initially were harvest with Bananas and were switch to palm oil because of the risk of floating due to hurricanes.

Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
    AGROPALMA will promote internally RSPO implementing the P&C in the organization and to other stakeholder by promoting the best practices in our industry that leads to the sustainability of palm oil industry in Honduras.
  • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
    We are establishing to promote the use of sustainable palm oil with our clients and to promote the P&C with our independent Fresh Fruit providers.
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
    We plan first to promote the national interpretation of the P&C in Honduras, second we will plan to contract the assistance of a certified RSPO program manager to help us implement the P&C that will lead us to the RSPO certification.
  • Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
    We hope that by joining RSPO we will successfully promote the best practices of sustainable palm oil management in Honduras that will lead our industry in an orderly development that will be friendly with our environment and communities. By the certification of our industry in Honduras we hope to have access to the growing demand of certified RSPO palm oil.
    Palm oil in Honduras is the third largest export of our economy and the sustainability of our industry is crucial for the development of our country. However currently the productivity of our industry is very low so there is a big potential to improve in productivity if we promote the use of high productivity soil, the use the high productivity seeds, have good practices for fertilizing the soil, good cultivating techniques and proper pest management. All these practices have to be friendly with our environment and communities.
