Tesco Stores Ltd

Tesco is one of the world's largest retailers with over 480,000 colleagues in 11 markets across Europe and Asia. As part of our core purpose to serve our shoppers a little better every day, we have a duty to ensure that all of our products are sourced responsibly, both in terms of the workers that make and produce them and their environmental impact.

Our responsible sourcing strategy includes a number of 2025 environmental ambitions, such as to achieve a sustainable footprint on water, climate and biodiversity from our biggest agricultural products and to reduce CO2e emissions in the products in our supply chain against a 2008 baseline by 30%. Along with other companies in the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) we have also agreed to achieve zero net deforestation by 2020, starting with the four global drivers for deforestation that are relevant for our business: palm oil, cattle products, soy and timber. For each commodity we are mapping our supply chains to understand our exposure, and putting in place sustainable procurement policies.
