Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
Internally, Emery is preparing to conduct awareness training on sustainability, in general, and specifically on RSPO. Externally, we are working with Stakeholders like the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) to look into matters like the Life Cycle Analysis of our oleobasic products like fatty acids, fatty alcohol, etc. which is related closely to sustainability and RSPO. We are also involved in conferences (PIPOC, POC, etc) by giving papers promoting sustainability as well as, specifically RSPO.
  • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
We have a team to look into matters relating specifically to RSPO as interface with interested parties or to resolve any matters related to RSPO
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
We are currently involved with Sime Darby (our Shareholder who is also an RSPO Member), one of our main supplier of palm-based feedstock, in preparation to participate in the RSPO Supply Chain certification scheme
  • Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
Emery hopes that by joining RSPO, we would be able to ensure that RSPO would be one of our sustainable solutions towards meeting our vision to become the world leader in value-added natural based chemicals.
In terms of supporting RSPO, Emery is currently actively involved in the Trade & Traceability Steering Committee of the RSPO.
