Australian Food Industries is a manufacturer of bakery and confectionary products to major supermarkets and distributors within Australia. We endeavour to provide our customers with a safe, legal and high quality product as well as meeting customers expectations. We produce a range of cakes of a variety of flavours (i.e. chocolate, white, caramel, sticky date mud cakes). We also produce a variety of biscuits (viennese fingers, yoyo's, jam treats, choc jam cookies, cookies), tarts (raspberry, lemon, neenish) and snowballs.

Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
    RSPO supply chain model used is part of the finished product description on invoices being sent to customers,
    AFI RSPO certification is stated on invoices.
    RSPO certification is disclosed on specifications given to custoners.
  • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
    All raw materials purchased by AFI for the production of products to be sold to customers will contain sustainable palm oil using either the segregated or mass balance supply chain models. AFI will always purchase raw materials that contain sustainable palm oil where ever possible.
    AFI will engage with customers and will offer all customers finished product containing sustainable palm oil.
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
    AFI works with suppliers to ensure that the RSPO principles and Criteria are being met, this is through supplier questions and audit certificates being held on file. AFI has annual 3rd party certification audits to ensure that the RSPO criteria is being met.

    AFI will only purchase raw materials that contain certified sustainable palm oil and relay this to our customers.
