Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
Internally we communicate the RSPO Code of Conduct to all our employees. Frequently during internal meetings, we discuss the RSPO principles, which keeps us focused on our company's philosophy and the RSPO principles. Our website serves as our main communication channel towards our stakeholders. Stakeholders can always contact us and ask for information on our company and RSPO.
  • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
We are fully committed to the sustainable production of palm oil and we expect our customers and other business partners to share our philosophy. For us, the RSPO membership is a minimum requirement to be involved in the palm oil business and we demand our business partners be (or become in the nearby future) a member of the RSPO. We feel that as everyone shares the RSPO philosophy it is unlikely that unresolvable conflicts will arise.
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
Our plantations are periodically visited and rigorously tested for the compliance with our organic production regulations and the RSPO Principles and Criteria. Our Quality Assessment Engineer is responsible for the assessments that take place on a continuous basis. We believe that living up to the RSPO Principles and Criteria is a collective effort requiring long-term dedication and commitment. Our Quality Assessment Engineer assures that we all stay focused.
  • Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
The RSPO membership is an expression of Natural Habitats intentions towards sustainability. In our case, the RSPO membership will be a message to the world that we support the sustainable production of palm oil. Moreover, we are taking sustainability to the next level by ensuring our entire supply chain matches the sustainability philosophy. We will encourage all our people along the supply chain and all our current and future business partners to act according to the RSPO Principles and Criteria.
