Olivier Charrier

Ferrero, Global Director of Nutella Presidency

After graduating from French “Institut Supérieur de Gestion” business school in 1989, Olivier Charrier has been working for the Italian company FERRERO, third largest chocolate confectionery player globally with a turnover of 11 billion € in 2018/2019. The most famous Ferrero brands are Ferrero Rocher, Kinder, and Nutella.

During his career at Ferrero, M. Charrier has endorsed various functions across many geographies:

  • Trade-Marketing Director in France
  • Marketing Director in Australia & New Zealand
  • Deputy Global Category Director Ferrero Pralines and then Global Category Director Nutella at Ferrero International HQ in Luxembourg
  • CEO of Ferrero Benelux
  • Since 2017, Global Director of Marketing, Innovation and Brand Social Responsibility Nutella at Ferrero International

Ferrero has been an early adopter of palm oil in its recipes and is now recognized a best practice in sourcing and processing 100% segregated RSPO certified sustainable palm oil (ca. 200.000 tons / year i.e. 0,3% of worldwide consumption).

Since 2012, M. Charrier has conducted numerous studies to understand consumers’ relationship to palm oil and address it through various marketing initiatives.

M. Charrier is involved in various sustainable palm oil advocacy industry initiatives (EPOA, Belgium alliance, Italian alliance, French alliance, MPOC …)
