Background of Complaint:
Complaints were received on the proposed development of a 70,000 hectares of oil palm plantation and mill in Cameroon, Africa

Complaint filed against member organization:

Herakles Farms and SG Sustainable Oils Cameroon

-    WWF Cameroon
-    Greenpeace
-    RELUFA ( Network for the Fight against Hunger Cameroon)
-    SAVE Wildlife Conservation Fund
-    Centre for Environment and Development in Yaounde, Cameroon
-    Academics and researchers from James Madison University ,University of Durham  in the US and University of Goettingen , Germany
-    Deutsche Gessellschaft fur  Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)

Details of the complaint:
The complaints are in relations to breaches of Principle 7, Responsible Development of New Plantings, of the RSPO Principles and Criteria

RSPO Response:
RSPO considers violation of human rights and environmental destruction as critical non-compliance, and will handle these complaints received with utmost priority through its Grievance Process. The RSPO has received the official complaints from the various parties and is currently investigating this matter in detail. Updates will be provided as soon as possible.
