How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
INTERAL has implemented an Environmental Policy. A communication procedure is established both internal and externally for any environment related news process,audit results, environmental indicators, objectives and results.
In order to promote the actions of the RSPO and CSPO benefits the following actions will take place:
Internally: communication meetings, training for involved departments, bulletin boards, and internal emails to explain the benefits of being part of the RSPO and the environmental benefit of using CSPO.
Externally: Annual Report available for external parties with the objectives,environmental programs in place and our Environmental Policy. When requested,an Open Day can be arranged. The Environmental Manager together with the R&D,Manufacturing, Warehouse and Sales department Managers will inform and show the followed plan to promote the RSPO.
Since July 2009 Interal is in the process to obtain ISO 14001 certification and since 2005 is promoting environmental improvements such as packaging reduction,energy efficiency or logistic optimization to reduce empty spaces on trucks. Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
Some of our bigger customers are demanding us to produce with Sustainable Palm Oil. Our interest, as an industrial manufacturer, is to standardize as much as possible as a way of being more efficient. So we are trying to convince the rest of our customers and our shareholders to adopt sustainable Palm Oil as the only Palm Oil used in the company by 2015. We are willing to assume a part of the over-cost but we are negotiating with suppliers and customers to reduce as much as possible
that over cost.
Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
Since July 2009 we are demanding our current supplier to provide us with
Segregated CSPO. We are also searching the market to find other possible suppliers with segregated certifications. We have pushed them to go forward with their certification applications, and in fact, our current supplier, Lipidos Santiga, is one of the dealers already able to supply both Mass Balance and Segregated CSPO.
Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
Our company is one of the biggest stock cubes manufacturers in Europe. We have to be up to date regarding the requirements our customers are demanding. We want to be the first stock cubes and soups manufacturer in Europe to use 100% sustainable Palm Oil. In the near future his point is going to become a â€œdo or dieâ€ in the competition. We are sure we will enlarge our market share by being the first company of our sector in the use of CSPO.
