Fundada en el año 1970, ANCUPA cumple con la finalidad de agremiar a los cultivadores de fruta de palma aceitera, así como a los extractores de aceite de palma y palmiste, fomentando la unión, cooperación y la mutua asistencia entre todos los actores de la cadena productiva de la palma aceitera.

ANCUPA tiene personería jurídica de derecho privado, sin fines de lucro, agremia, representa y vela por los derechos de los cultivadores de palma, así como de las extractoras de aceite de palma y palmiste. Beneficia a sus asociados, impulsando desarrollo tecnológico del cultivo, teniendo entre sus objetivos el transferir tecnología para el establecimiento y manejo del cultivo sustentable, para mejorar la productividad a escala nacional. Mantiene convenios de cooperación con entidades académicas y de investigación para el desarrollo de proyectos prioritarios para el sector. Cuenta con un Centro de Investigación que brinda los servicios de: pasantías, entrenamiento de personal de campo, información meteorológica, laboratorio microbiológico, biblioteca y venta de materiales informativos.

ANCUPA trabaja bajo un enfoque interdisciplinario, interinstitucional y participativo que le da fortaleza para cumplir con un compromiso de transparencia entre los actores identificados en cultivo y a la vez promover la responsabilidad ambiental y una gestión social de los recursos naturales. Nuestro compromiso va en el sentido de impulsar el desarrollo de nuestra actividad bajo criterios de sostenibilidad, los cuales se derivan en beneficios tanto económicos como ambientales.

El RSPO es una iniciativa oportuna y apropiada que logrará establecer la diferencia entre aquellos que mantienen o no un compromiso real con la sustentabilidad, claro está a través del cumplimiento de los principios y criterios establecidos.



Founded in 1970, ANCUPA exists to represent and serve the oil palm partners, boosting its economic and social development with environmental responsibility.

ANCUPA have jurisdictional existence under private law, non-profit, unionized, represents and safeguards the rights is the palm growers and extractors of palm oil and palm kernel. Benefits to its members, promoting technological development of the crop, having as objectives the technology transfer for the establishment and sustainable crop management to improve productivity in the country. Maintains cooperative agreements with academic and research institutions to develop priority projects for the sector. It has a research center that provides services: internships, training of field personnel, meteorological information, microbiological laboratory, library and informative materials.

ANCUPA works under a character interdisciplinary approach, and participatory agency gives strength to meet a commitment to transparency among stakeholders in the culture while promoting environmental responsibility and social management of natural resources. Our commitment goes to promote the development of our activity under sustainability criteria, which result in economic and environmental benefits.

We are sure that the RSPO is a timely and appropriate initiative that will make the difference between those who maintain a real commitment to sustainability, and of course, through compliance with established principles and criteria.

Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
    Ancupa pretends to promote internally the P&C of the RSPO through the organization of reunions, newsletters, technical seminars, where the partners can resolve their concerns and contribute with ideas for the better implementation of the P&C of the RSPO.
  • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
    Most of the interest parties of the oil palm production are part of ANCUPA, so we will guarantee the correct application of the environmental, social, economical and technical's aspects of the sustainable oil palm production.
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
    A commission of the board will be conformed to promote the implementation of the P&C of the RSPO between our partners, and will create a system to evaluate and emphasize the correct application of the sustainable palm oil production.
  • Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
    Like RSPO member, Ancupa will contribute with their partners with all the technical information to promote the application of the P&C. Further Ancupa and the partners plantations can do of Ecuador a sustainable palm oil production country
