RSPO Members “Get Together”, Jakarta, 19 June 2012

The RSPO Indonesia members gathering was held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 19th June 2012 as an annual event to bring members closer to each other and share the similar value of sustainability. This initiative was attended by over 80 members from various membership categories including oil palm growers, processors and traders, consumer goods manufactures, NGOs as well as affiliate members. More.. RSPO Secretary General Darrel Webber updated members on RSPO globally, while Desi Kusumadewi, RSPO Indonesia Director, updated the members on progress of RSPO in Indonesia. Also speaking at the members, Prof. Bungaran Saragih, the advisor for RSPO; Irwan Gunawan, the Deputy Director for Market Transformation of WWF Indonesia who presented WWF’s recent study “Profitability and Sustainability in Palm Oil Production” which gave an insight of economic outlook from implementing the RSPO P&C; Joko Arif, Sustainable Development Manager of Carrefour Indonesia who spoke about “Retailer’s Commitment Towards CSPO”, including their effort to use CSPO in their private label products sold in Indonesian market; Salahudin Yaacob, RSPO Technical Director in the afternoon updated members on the recently approved new RSPO Supply Chain Certification Standard and System; and Bremen Young, RSPO Trademark Manager provided update on RSPO Trademark.
