Emirates Refining Company Ltd (ERCO) was established in 1989 and started commercial production in 1990. It is part of the IFFCO group of companies which in turn is the UAE - based operation of the Allana Group. The Allana Group is a family owned company with its headquaters in India. ERCO's principal business are the processing of crude, semi refined and refined vegetable oils, the filling of refined vegetable oils, the manufacturer of blended products based on vegetable oils and/or milk fat such as margarine, butter, ghee and bakery fats/shortenings and the production of plastic containers for internal use. The company has a broad customer base - both in retail and industrial market sectors - and its products sold in the UAE, GCC countries and also distributed widely to many other countries throughout the world. ERCO has actively sougt to expand and diversify in terms of both product range and customer markets for the whole of the 22 years it has been operationg and aims to continue to do so in the future years. Emirates Refining Company Ltd is ISO 9001:2008 Certified, HCAPP Certified and BRC Certified. Felda Iffco a certified RSPO company is our supplier for palm oil, which is also part of IFFCO group.

RSPO will be a part of the agenda of ERCO Food Safety and Quality Management Review, Cross Functional Meeting and Daily Coordination Meeting. A separate forum and dialogues will be held with ERCO employees to discuss RSPO principles.
The same awareness will be disseminated to our business partners to give encouragement to be a member and / or obtain certification.

ERCO to assesss suppliers performance against RSPO principles and criteria. Continue to create awareness by organizing dialogues to resolve conflict and issues on sustainability with our customers including Pepsico, Kraft, Mc Donalds, YUM (KFC), Burger King, Mars, Krispy Kreme. ERCO to promote and subscribe to use sustainably produced crude and refined palm oil and palm kernel oil in our processing facilities. When a conflict does arise, ERCO shall adopt the principles and criteria established by RSPO.

Impose ERCO’s customers and suppliers to use sustainably produced palm oil and to assess suppliers’ performance against RSPO principles and criteria. ERCO to encourage our customers to actively participate in RSPO by becoming a member and/or subscribing to RSPO principles and criteria.

ERCO to continue to work with supplier who are certified RSPO companies. ERCO to use only palm oil from RSPO certified companies.
ERCO as a would be ordinary member of RSPO will continue to promote RSPO principles to our global customers and suppliers.
