Gabungan Industri Minyak Nabati Indonesia (GIMNI)

Gabungan Industri Minyak nabati Indonesia (GIMNI) is an association for Indonesian companies involved in palm oil refinery and olechemical processing. GIMNI was established in 30 April 2007. the members of GIMNI produce various CPO-based products (RD Olein, Stearin, Coconut Oil, Palm Kernel Oil, Palm Kernel Cake, Cocoa Butter Substitutes, bar soap, margarine, shortening, specialty fats etc.) The Association’s vision is: to unite the refiners and be strongly for struggle the members’ interest. The Association’s mission is: to unite the refiners of Indonesia and become an economic power to enhance the people and nations economic of Indonesia. Presently the members of GIMNI totaled 26. The members market their products locally and internationally to over 50 countries. GIMNI’s members are committed to the RSPO CoC, and through their own in-house programmes, have also obtained the ISO certifications (14001, 9001) as well as GMP and HACCP certifications.

How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
GIMNI encourages its members to adopt best practices in processing and manufacturing and networking with other players in the palm oil value chain.
Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
GIMNI\'s members communicate with a broader spectrum of stakeholders and adopt criteria of best proctices in processing and use of palm oil.
Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
GIMNI\'s members are applying the RSPO P&C to produce palm oil in a sustainable manner. The Association will strive to encourage its members to be guided by these principles and criteria when dealing with palm oil suppliers.
Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
GIMNI hopes to interact with other stakeholders by participating in the RSPO activities and contribute in the area of sustainable sevelopment.
